The Phiroz Mehta Trust was formed in 1988, arising from the wishes of a group of students associated with the work of Phiroz Mehta, the Indian-born writer and lecturer on religious topics.
The Trust promotes the study and practice of the world’s great religions and the art of religious living, which is truly Human Living — i.e. the art of living the ordinary everyday life virtuously, with a view to the well-being and fulfilment of oneself and all others.
It is not the purpose of the Trust to make converts or to establish a separate sect. It is, instead, to provide the facilities whereby each and every person can develop his or her own understanding and explore the pathways to truth in co-operation with others — for each person is unique. Thus all may return to their everyday lives having spiritually and mentally re-created themselves.
Towards fulfilling these objectives, the collection of recorded talks given by Phiroz Mehta during his lifetime, together with his library of books on philosophy and the religions, are housed by the Trust and are available for use by all who are interested.
An explanation of the Trust's lotus flower logo can be found in The Heart of Religion on pages 364–370.
Membership of the Trust is free, and entitles members to receive our quarterly Newsletter by post rather than by email.
If you would like to become a member, please contact us. You can also subscribe to receive our free Newsletter by email.
The Trust occasionally holds afternoon meetings, open to all and free of charge, at which we listen to and discuss talks by Phiroz Mehta.
In addition to these, our yearly residential Summer Schools are a unique opportunity to study Phiroz’s work in more depth in the company of some of his former fellow-students, in beautiful and peaceful surroundings.
If you would like to attend any of these events or find out more about them, please contact us.
At the moment there are no events scheduled.
Books and recorded talks on CD, cassette and DVD are available from the Trust and other sources. Please see our ordering page for details.
