A talk given by Phiroz Mehta at Dilkusha, Forest Hill, London on 2nd October 1983
People are self-oriented — hence the world’s turmoil. Religion means purification of the self. Absolute consciousness in the Transcendental context means being that of which you are conscious. One must be able to stand the flash of consciousness or be destroyed. We cling to the ego-ism when we long for ego-continuity after death. Extinguish the fires of greed, hate and delusion.
