A talk given by Phiroz Mehta at Dilkusha, Forest Hill, London on 17th January 1981

Karma is misrepresented as "retributive justice." Retribution is of the nature of vengeance, belonging to the finite, temporal, mortal. Justice heals, it holds within itself mercy, compassion, patience, wisdom, rooted in the Infinite, Eternal, Immortal. It is sensitive to the elements which compose the karmic process.Several misconceptions about karma. We notice only particulars but every particular is in constant interplay with Totality. There is no such thing as "my" karma. Karma - action in thought and deed. Transcendence never compels.
