A talk given by Phiroz Mehta at Dilkusha, Forest Hill, London on 11th February 1979
Consciousness is confined to sense-brain functioning. Dormant in us are sensitivities, potentialities which strive to break through confinement. How can we perceive a life-trend when we are held in the prison of our own ignorance? Be quiet, be no-thing, creative, free, human. The Diamond Sutra. “Analysis” takes us only to a certain point — to show that where Transcendence is concerned no analysis is possible. “Subhuti, a Bodhisattva, should ‘produce a thought’ to lead all beings to Nirvāṇa.” But in a true Bodhi-being there is no perception of a self, a being, a soul, a person, nor of dharma or no-dharma.
