The founders of the great religions taught how we should lead the religious life. An implied metaphysic is in each religion - namely the Truth. Religion subsumes all aspects of life. Meaning of Ātman and anattā. The Buddha's words in respect of his own discipline. None of us "achieves" Transcendence, Transcendence functions through us. You yourself are the path.
