A talk given by Phiroz Mehta at Dilkusha, Forest Hill, London on 8th May 1976
Earthquake in Europe; disaster, illness, death, etc. The account in the Saṃyutta Nikāya of Vakkali’s illness and death, and the Buddha’s talk with him. Human relationships; conflict of head and heart, “duty” and “desire.” Selfness is involved, pure attentiveness is required. See deeply, learn the truth of life, grow happily. Conflicts enclosed in ambivalence give place to the wholeness of Transcendence.
