A talk given by Phiroz Mehta at Dilkusha, Forest Hill, London on 19th May 1973

Why is it so difficult for us to live by love and to express it rightly? Yājñavalkya's discourse to Maitreyi (Bṛihadāraṇyaka Upaniṣad 4.5). "Not for love of the husband is a husband dear, but for the love of the Ātman is a husband dear." Fear arises out of the sense of "otherness." From the conjugative union of pati and patnī flow all the archetypal forms which are forces affecting our lives.
