Why is it so difficult for us to live by love and to express it rightly? Yājñavalkya’s discourse to Maitreyi (Bṛihadāraṇyaka Upaniṣad 4.5). “Not for love of the husband is a husband dear, but for the love of the Ātman is a husband dear.” Fear arises out of the sense of “otherness.” From the conjugative union of pati and patnī flow all the archetypal forms which are forces affecting our lives.
