The Phiroz Mehta Trust Summer School 2013

From the Editor

This year our Summer School will be held at Claridge House, a Quaker house at Lingfield, Surrey, from Tuesday 23rd to Sunday 28th July, 2013.

This is the first year we have been at Claridge House, which is a Victorian house set in a 2-acre garden in rural Surrey. It should be a lovely place for our Summer School.

There will be a large room for our meetings, a quiet room for meditation, and also a library. Accommodation will be mostly in single rooms but with some twin bedded rooms which can be used for single occupancy, all with washbasins and tea-making facilities. We shall be having vegetarian food but with various special diets (all vegetarian) available for those needing them. Claridge House is a few minutes from Lingfield railway station which has a direct service to London Victoria.

The cost for the five nights will be £310 per person, full board. As in previous years a bursary is available for those who may have difficulty in meeting the full cost. Please contact the Editor in strict confidence if you would like further details.

Bookings are being taken now. Please send your cheque for £50 made out to Claridge House to the Editor at 47 Lillian Road, London, SW13 9JF. This deposit is non-refundable and the balance will be due to be paid by 15th June.

Due to a generous donation, this year we shall also be offering two completely free places at Claridge House for the entire Summer School. These are open to anyone in agreement with the aims of the Phiroz Mehta Trust, with just two conditions. These are (1) that the applicant should not have attended a previous Phiroz Mehta Trust Summer School, and (2) that he or she should be known to an existing member, or would be willing to have a short meeting with one prior to attending the School. Young people would of course be very welcome.

This is an opportunity that may never occur again, so please do take advantage of it! In the first instance, please contact the Phiroz Mehta Trust if you are interested.
