In 2013 the Phiroz Mehta Trust funded a student at SOAS, University of London, for a Master’s course in Yoga and Meditation.
Karen O’Brien-Kop, the student selected, has now completed her M. A., her dissertation being on the function in the Upaniṣads of the word OM. She has been accepted by SOAS to study towards a Ph. D. We are all delighted at her success.
The student selected by SOAS for 2014–15 is Amelia Wood, a Yoga teacher and practitioner. Amelia, an English Language graduate, wants to use her knowledge to help others in the practice of Yoga and Meditation, and to play a role in keeping the ancient traditions alive in the West. She is interested in deepening her understanding in many areas, including the development of rituals and beliefs. At the Trust we wish her great success with her studies.
